Mitchell Marsh Shines with Fastest Century in IPL 2026

Lucknow, May 7: In the 50th match of IPL 2026, Mitchell Marsh made headlines by scoring the fastest century for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Marsh completed his century in just 49 balls, breaking the previous record set by LSG captain Rishabh Pant, who had achieved his century in 54 balls last season.

Marsh’s explosive performance saw him score 111 runs off 56 balls at a strike rate of 198, including 9 fours and 9 sixes. With this innings, he equaled KL Rahul for the most centuries for LSG, both having scored two centuries each. Marsh surpassed Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, and Pant in this regard.

He partnered with Arshin Kulkarni to put together a solid opening stand, scoring 95 runs in 9.2 overs before Kulkarni was dismissed for 17 runs off 24 balls. Marsh continued his impressive batting alongside Nicholas Pooran, adding 70 runs for the second wicket in just 41 balls. Pooran contributed 38 runs off 23 balls before being dismissed by Josh Hazlewood.

In the final overs, Rishabh Pant showcased his aggressive batting style, scoring an unbeaten 32 runs off just 10 balls, helping LSG post a total of 209 runs for 3 wickets in 19 overs, as the match was reduced due to rain interruptions.
