Mumbai, August 8: The dream of securing a job in the railway sector is shared by millions of youth in India. For those aspiring for a career in this field, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has announced an official notification inviting applications for various 134 apprentice trainee positions under a special drive and the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).
The vacancies include 24 positions for BE Civil Engineering, 18 for BE Electrical Engineering, 8 for BE Electronics Engineering, 10 for BE Mechanical Engineering, 20 for Diploma (Civil), 12 for Diploma (Electrical), 7 for Diploma (Electronics), 15 for Diploma (Mechanical), and 20 for General Stream Graduates.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on document verification, physical fitness, and merit list. Selected candidates for the Graduate Apprentice post will receive a stipend of ₹6,150 during training, while those chosen for the Technician (Diploma) Apprentice positions will receive ₹5,450 per month.
Applicants must be aged between 18 and 25 years as of January 1, with age relaxation applicable for candidates from reserved categories.
Candidates appearing for document verification must hold a BE/BTech degree in Civil/Electrical/Electronics and Power Engineering/Information Technology/Communication Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Mechanical/Industrial/Automobile/Production Engineering or related fields for the Graduate Engineer post. For the Technician (Diploma) Apprentice post, a diploma in the same fields is required.
For the General Stream Graduate positions, candidates must have a degree in any general stream, including Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce/Business Administration/Management Science/Journalism and Mass Communication/Business Studies.
Document verification will take place from August 24 to August 28 at the ‘Executives Club, Konkan Rail Vihar, Sector-40, opposite Seawoods Railway Station (West), Navi Mumbai-400706’. Registration for candidates will occur on the same day from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates are advised to arrive on time and bring a hard copy of the filled application form along with original and photocopies of all relevant documents.
Document verification dates are set as follows: August 24 for BE Civil Engineering, Diploma (Civil), and BE Electronics Engineering; August 25 for BE Electrical Engineering, Diploma (Electrical), and Diploma (Electronics); August 27 for BE Mechanical Engineering and Diploma (Mechanical); and August 28 for General Stream Graduates.
