Udaipur, May 18: Juventus defender Facundo Gonzalez has officially completed a permanent transfer to Racing Santander, who recently secured promotion to LaLiga. The Uruguayan player has been with Juventus since 2023, having joined from Valencia for approximately €1.75 million after impressing during the U20 World Cup.
Following his arrival at Juventus, Gonzalez was loaned out to Sampdoria and later to Feyenoord, where he faced limited playing time. Last summer, he signed with Racing Santander on loan, with an obligation to buy contingent on their promotion to the Spanish top flight.
Racing Santander solidified their promotion by defeating Valladolid 4-1, ensuring a top-two finish in LaLiga 2. This success has triggered the obligation for Racing to purchase Gonzalez from Juventus, as confirmed by JuventusNews24.
Juventus is expected to receive a transfer fee of €2.5 million from the deal, marking a small profit. Interestingly, Gonzalez leaves Juventus without having made any competitive appearances for the club, but he enjoyed a successful season at Racing, making 27 appearances in the second division and scoring one goal.
