Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake CPUs With 120 Total TOPS Launched in India: Features

Intel’s Core Ultra 200V series processors (known as Lunar Lake) were launched in India on Thursday, about eight days after their global launch. It is the second-generation artificial intelligence (AI)-equipped processor that the company launched after the launch of the Meteor Lake processors in December 2023. In addition to multiple AI acceleration features, the Intel Core Ultra 200V series can offer a total of 67 processors. Trillion operations per second (TOPS). Lunar Lake is the company’s first processor to carry the Microsoft Copilot+ label.

Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake series is available in India

The Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake series laptops will be available for pre-order from September 12 on retail platforms such as Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales. The device will be available for purchase from September 24th.

This includes products from global manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI and Samsung.

Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake Series Features

Intel says its new lineup of processors supports the company’s new Xe2 graphics architecture, which is said to deliver 30x better performance when creating mobile graphics. This collection includes 9 new laptop processors with eight CPU cores and up to eight GPU cores.

Intel Arc graphics processing units (GPUs) consist of eight second-generation Xe cores, eight advanced ray tracing units, support for up to three 4K displays, and the Intel Xe Matrix Extensions artificial intelligence engine. These upgrades can provide performance up to 67 TOPS. According to Intel, Lunar Lake processors have 68% better graphics performance than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chipset.

For its development, the chipmaker worked with independent software vendors (ISVs) to optimize more than 500 AI models to ensure that PCs equipped with the chipset take full advantage of AI capabilities.

Four of the eight cores are Lion Cove performance cores and the remaining four are Skymont performance cores, the company said. All processors support up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM. The new Core Ultra Series 2 processors offer a total of 120 TOPS on CPU (5 TOPS), GPU (48 TOPS) and NPU (67 TOPS).

As for connectivity, the chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 (with LE Audio), and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. Laptops, PCs, and other Intel Lunar Lake-equipped devices can have up to three Thunderbolt 4 ports, six USB 2.0 ports, and two USB 3.0 ports.
