New Delhi, June 9: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s foreign policy has reached new heights over the past 12 years. The Ministry of External Affairs has reported a significant increase in India’s global stature and influence during this period.
Spokesperson for the Ministry, Randhir Jaiswal, stated on the social media platform ‘X’, “There has been a tremendous transformation in India’s foreign policy over the last 12 years, strengthening both Brand India and India’s identity on the global stage under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.”
He further elaborated, “From becoming the voice of the Global South to being the first responder in times of crisis, and promoting climate action through initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, India has linked national interests with global welfare, including advancing digital public goods like cross-border UPI.”
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting changes in the Ministry and India’s foreign policy over the past 12 years.
In a post on X, Dr. Jaishankar remarked, “Twelve years ago, Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister of India. In these ’12 years of service’, there have been changes in the Ministry of External Affairs and India’s foreign policy. Issuing passports and document attestations has become a smoother experience for the common citizen. We have provided extensive support to Indians through the increased use of open embassies abroad and welfare funds for the Indian community.”
The Minister added, “Welfare measures have been initiated for Indian students abroad. We have promoted Indian culture and enhanced respect and understanding of our heritage and traditions in other countries. To meet the needs of Indians living and traveling abroad, we have opened 44 embassies and consulates. Indian diplomacy works tirelessly for the nation. Today, Indians travel abroad with greater confidence and pride.”
