Exciting New Cars Set to Launch in December

Mumbai, October 29: Car enthusiasts in India can look forward to an exciting December as several new models are set to hit the market. Among the anticipated launches are the next-generation Toyota Fortuner, the facelifted Volkswagen Virtus, Honda’s first electric SUV, and JSW’s new plug-in hybrid SUV.

The new generation Toyota Fortuner is expected to debut on December 1, 2026, although its official launch in India may occur next year. The updated model will feature significant changes in both exterior and interior design, likely inspired by the latest Hilux. It is expected to come with a larger front grille, slim headlamps, and a modern cabin equipped with a large touchscreen and fully digital instrument cluster. Engine options are likely to include a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel mild hybrid and a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Volkswagen is also gearing up to launch the facelifted Virtus sedan in December. This model will feature a new grille, updated headlamps, and a refreshed bumper. Inside, it is expected to offer improved finishes and new features, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 360-degree camera. Engine options are anticipated to remain the same, with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox paired with the 1.0-liter engine.

Honda will introduce its first electric SUV, based on the Zero Alpha concept, on December 2, 2026. While the final name is yet to be revealed, the design is expected to include a thick C-pillar and an upright rear. The battery pack is likely to range between 65 to 75 kWh, with a front-wheel drive setup.

Lastly, JSW Motors is set to launch its first SUV, the JSW Combat, in early December. This model is based on the Jetour T2 and will feature a plug-in hybrid version tailored for the Indian market. It is expected to come with a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, two electric motors, and an 18.4 kWh battery, potentially generating a combined output of 360 PS and 610 Nm of torque.

With these exciting launches on the horizon, December promises to be a thrilling month for car buyers in India.
