The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design was unveiled in China on Tuesday as the world’s first mass-produced triple smartphone. The company revealed some specs, including a large 10.2-inch full-open display and a triple external camera setup, but didn’t reveal the processor that powers the phone. However, a new hands-on video from the official launch event suggests that it may be powered by the Kirin 9010 chipset, confirming previous leaks.
Huawei Mate XT chipset leaking
Details of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design chipset were revealed in a video clip posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo (via X Taylor Ogan’s post). There is said to be a Kirin 9010 chipset inside. This chip is said to have eight cores. One TaiShan performance core at 2.3 GHz, three intermediate cores limited to 2.18 GHz and four efficient cores with a maximum clock speed of 1.55 GHz.
Additionally, the Kirin 9010 chipset that powers the Mate XT Ultimate Design features a 64-bit architecture and is equipped with the Maleoon 910 MP4 GPU, which is also integrated into the Kirin 9000W and 9000S chipsets. The processor will be manufactured by Semiconductor International Manufacturing Corporation (SMIC), China’s largest chipset manufacturer.
It’s worth mentioning that this SoC is also in another Huawei smartphone called the Pure 70 Ultra, which is also only sold in China.
Huawei Mate XT specifications
The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design features a triple design with a 10.2-inch LTPO OLED display (when folded) that transforms into a 7.9-inch display once folded, and into a 6.4-inch display when folded twice. It has 16GB of RAM, HarmonyOS 4.2 operating system and 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options.
As for optics, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design features a triple external camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The internal display also houses an 8 megapixel selfie camera. Huawei packs a 5,600mAh battery into the tri-fold phone and supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
