Looks like HTC is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. The Taiwanese manufacturer announced the new product in a social media post on Wednesday (May 15), without revealing its name or release date. The phone in question could be an HTC U24 series model.
Last year’s HTC U23 and HTC U23 Pro can get updates. The move marks HTC’s return to the Indian market. The company ceased operations in India a few years ago after losing ground to the expansion of Chinese suppliers.

In a preview of the X, HTC Vive announced the launch of a new product in the country. The hashtag “alforu” will be added to this post in the near future. The figure shows a device labeled Al24U. Although the company did not reveal the exact name, it appears to be an HTC U24 series smartphone.
The HTC U24 and HTC U24 Pro are said to be in development. One such phone with model number 2QDA100 was recently spotted on Geekbench and Bluetooth SIG. The listing reveals specifications such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, 12GB of RAM, Android 14 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity for the upcoming phone.
The HTC U24 and HTC U24 Pro phones are expected to receive updates over the HTC U23 and HTC U23 Pro, respectively. The new models are expected to feature 120Hz Full HD+ OLED displays and IP67 certification.
The launch of the new handset marks HTC’s return to Indian shores. The brand, which primarily operates in the flagship segment of smartphones, has slowed down its mobile division growth globally in recent years after facing stiff competition from Chinese smartphone makers. Vive has a separate division dedicated to virtual reality development.
