Udaipur, May 13 (Udaipur Kiran) — Hindustan Zinc Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Group Nirmal for setting up a zinc wire manufacturing plant at the upcoming Zinc Industrial Park in Kankhla village of Bhilwara.

The partnership aims to strengthen India’s zinc-based manufacturing ecosystem and promote the use of zinc for corrosion protection in infrastructure and industrial applications.
Under the agreement, Group Nirmal will manufacture zinc wires using Special High Grade Zinc supplied by Hindustan Zinc. These zinc wires will be used across infrastructure, renewable energy, automotive and engineering sectors.
According to the companies, zinc wire plays a key role in thermal spray coating and metallising applications, which help protect steel structures such as bridges, railway infrastructure, transmission towers and ports from corrosion. The technology also increases the lifespan of infrastructure while reducing maintenance costs.
The Zinc Park was announced in December 2024 during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Anil Agarwal. The industrial park is being developed in collaboration with Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation to provide zinc-related industries with integrated access to raw materials and industrial facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Misra said the Zinc Park is a strategic initiative aimed at building a globally competitive ecosystem for zinc-based industries in India. He stated that the agreement with Group Nirmal reflects growing confidence in the project and highlighted the importance of zinc wire manufacturing for corrosion protection and infrastructure durability.
The company said Hindustan Zinc will ensure a continuous supply of raw materials to Group Nirmal. The Zinc Park is also expected to attract investments in galvanising, die-casting, zinc oxide and battery material manufacturing, creating new industrial and employment opportunities in Rajasthan.
Officials added that Group Nirmal’s expertise in manufacturing and industrial solutions will further strengthen the downstream ecosystem of the Zinc Park and support the growing demand for advanced anti-corrosion solutions in infrastructure and industrial sectors.
