According to the actress, the film’s story exemplifies women’s determination and empowerment, serving as an inspiration for women. She posted the film’s poster on Instagram, stating, “I recently watched ‘Achhari Ba,’ which is a touching story of a woman’s determination and empowerment. A simple yet impactful presentation. I wish the cast and crew all the best. Neena Gupta delivered a stellar performance, accompanied by her lovely golden retriever. This film is a must-watch.”
‘Achhari Ba’ was released on March 14, 2025, during Holi on the OTT platform Jio Plus Hotstar. The film’s story received much acclaim at the time of its release, as Neena Gupta portrayed the straightforward Achhari Ben, who makes the decision to leave even her son to find her identity.
The film revolves around a middle-class family, where Neena Devi, also known as Achhari Ba, sustains herself by making pickles, while her son lives in Mumbai, disconnected from her. One day, her son unexpectedly comes to take her back and proposes that she stay with him for ten days. Later, Achhari Ba discovers that she has been brought home to take care of a dog. Amidst this confusion, Achhari Ba gains fame through social media and wins a cooking competition. The film is filled with emotional ups and downs that can only be fully appreciated after watching it.
The film is available on Jio Plus Hotstar, and Vatsal Seth plays the role of Neena Gupta’s son.
