
Jaipur, June 30, 2024: The monsoon is active in Rajasthan, bringing widespread rainfall across the state. On Saturday, Dholpur and Bharatpur received up to 6 inches of rain, while Bikaner, Nagaur, and Churu also experienced heavy downpours. In Jaipur, late evening showers led to waterlogging on several roads.
Orange Alert Issued for Four Districts
The Meteorological Center Jaipur has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Jaipur, Alwar, Dausa, and Bharatpur today. Yellow alerts have been issued for seven other districts, while normal rainfall is expected in the remaining districts (excluding Jaisalmer).
Rainfall Details
According to the 24-hour rainfall report, Baseri town in Dholpur district received the highest amount of rainfall at 145mm. Heavy rains caused waterlogging in several areas of Baseri. Besides Baseri, Badi received 104mm of rain. In Bharatpur, Uchhain, Deeg, Nagar, Kaman, Kumher, and hilly areas also experienced heavy rainfall. Deeg and Nagar towns recorded over 100mm of rain.
Rain Brings Relief from Heat and Humidity
Heavy rains were also recorded in Bikaner city on Saturday. Water flowed like rivers in the main markets, causing goods kept outside shops to get swept away. Heavy rains were also reported in Churu and Nagaur districts. In Nagaur, the rains provided relief from the heat and humidity. Nagaur city received 45mm of rain, while Mundwa and Makrana received 29mm and 26mm respectively.
