Rajsamand, August 10 (H.S.) – A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Dhak Ka Chaura village, Mandawar Gram Panchayat, under Bhim sub-division of Rajsamand district, where a grandmother and her two grandchildren drowned in Sheel Sagar pond, plunging the entire village into grief.

According to Devgarh Station House Officer Anil Kumar Vishnoi, Bhawari Devi (60), wife of Rajulal Gameti, had gone to graze goats with her grandson Himmat Ram (11) and granddaughter Meena (10), children of Lachhuram Gameti. While there, the two children began bathing in the pond but drifted into deeper water and started drowning.
In an attempt to save them, Bhawari Devi jumped into the pond, but due to the depth and slippery surface, none of them could get out.
Some villagers, who were grazing goats at a distance, rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion. However, by the time they reached, all three had lost their lives.
On receiving the information, Mandawar Administrator Pyari Devi and a large number of villagers arrived at the site. The Devgarh police team also reached the spot and, with the help of locals, recovered the bodies. The three were taken to Devgarh Hospital, where a post-mortem was conducted in the presence of their family members.
