The creators of the film Ramayana: Part 1, also known as Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, have issued a warning regarding unauthorized recordings of the film. With the movie showing in cinemas since November 5, they expressed concerns over clips being shared on social media and messaging platforms.

The film’s team, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has pointed out that anyone caught recording or distributing unauthorized content may face legal repercussions. In a notice shared on their official social media, they acknowledged awareness of such activities during screenings.

The notice cites two recent orders from the Bombay High Court, dated November 2 and November 6, 2026, which prohibit the recording or sharing of the film without permission. It reads, “The Hon’ble Bombay High Court… has restrained all persons… from recording, uploading, sharing or otherwise communicating the film.”

The makers stressed that unauthorized sharing is not just a copyright issue but could also result in criminal charges. They stated, “Doing so is copyright infringement, a criminal offence punishable with imprisonment and fine,” referring to various legal acts, including the Copyright Act and the IT Act.

The film’s team has urged individuals who have already shared footage to remove it immediately. They warned that those who do not comply may be reported to the relevant authorities and the platforms hosting the content. The notice asserts, “We will pursue criminal, civil and contempt proceedings without further notice.”

In addition to the warning about unauthorized clips, a scene from an international version of the film recently drew attention online, featuring an extended fight sequence not included in the Hindi release. Rumors of this content have circulated following the film’s release.

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana, and has an ensemble cast. The second part is anticipated for release during Diwali 2028.
