Udaipur, February 16, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — Dr Madhusudan Sharma, former Vice-Chancellor of University of Kota and former president of Udaipur City District Congress, passed away in Udaipur on Sunday morning. He was 74 and had been unwell for some time.

Congress leader Pankaj Kumar Sharma informed that Dr Sharma breathed his last earlier today.
As news of his demise spread, Congress leaders gathered at his residence in Sutharwada, Udaipur, to pay their respects. Party members and members of the academic community expressed deep sorrow over his passing.
Dr Sharma also served as Dean of the Science Faculty and Head of the Zoology Department at Mohanlal Sukhadia University. In addition, he held responsibilities as Office In-charge of the university’s Central Library and Chairman of its Sports Board.
His final journey will commence from his residence in Sutharwada at 12:30 pm and proceed to Ashok Nagar Mokshdham for the last rites.
