Mumbai, November 1 (Udaipur Kiran). The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 4.7 kilograms of cocaine worth around ₹47 crore in the international market during a special operation at Mumbai Airport. So far, five persons have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to DRI officials, a special anti-narcotics operation has been launched at Mumbai Airport to curb drug smuggling. During the operation, a woman passenger arriving from Colombo was intercepted. Upon checking her luggage, officials discovered a white powdery substance concealed inside nine coffee powder packets. The substance was later confirmed to be cocaine.
Following her arrest, DRI conducted further investigation and apprehended four more accused late on Friday night. All five individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The DRI team is continuing its probe to identify the wider network involved in the smuggling attempt.
