Thiruvananthapuram, March 30 : An embassy official was taken into custody by the rural cyber police on his arrival at the international airport here on Tuesday. The official attached to the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, identified as Praveen Krishna, was taken into custody for allegedly making obscene calls and sending vulgar messages to women in Kerala by using caller ID spoofing and internet calls, sources said today. Earlier, after receiving a complaint from a woman at Neyyattinkara, the rural cyber police filed a case and issued a lookout notice against the embassy official. There were also complaints that he made calls to lady doctors in Regional Cancer Centre in Thiruvananthapuram by using fake ID. DS GNK
