Jaipur, 17 November (Udaipur Kiran). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bhiwadi team on Monday arrested a Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JVVNL) lineman and a private middleman while accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 in Mubarikpur, Rajgarh tehsil of Alwar district.

ACB Director General Govind Gupta said a complainant approached the bureau stating that an agricultural electricity connection in his father’s name had been applied for three years ago at the Assistant Engineer’s office in Ramgarh, Alwar. About ten months ago, the demand notice for the connection was issued, and the required amount was duly deposited.
However, lineman Dinesh Kumar and lineman Virendra Singh allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹6,000 to process the transformer indent and ensure the transformer was issued for the connection. After receiving the complaint, the ACB conducted a confidential verification.
Under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Parmeshwar Lal, the Bhiwadi ACB team laid a trap and caught lineman Dinesh Kumar and private individual Rajkumar red-handed while accepting a ₹5,000 bribe.
