China Observes National Disaster Prevention Day in Nanchang

Beijing, May 15: Recently, the main event for China’s National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, along with the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Promotion Week, was held. This event was organized jointly by the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Management, China Media Group, and the local government of Jiangxi Province. The event took place in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.

Jiang Chengzhong, Vice Chairman of the National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief Committee and Minister of Emergency Management, participated in the event and delivered a speech. He emphasized the importance of deeply studying, promoting, and implementing the spirit of the significant speeches by CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief. He highlighted the fundamental values of prioritizing people’s lives and safety.

Yu Junshen, Deputy Director-General of China Media Group, also spoke at the event. He stated that CMG has consistently adhered to the principle of putting people and their lives first, providing timely and comprehensive coverage of disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief measures by the CPC and the Chinese government. He mentioned the integration of news reporting on emergencies and public awareness of emergency science into their daily communication programs.
