Britannia Industries surges on rolling out ‘Marie Gold Jeera’ in Tamil Nadu

Britannia Industries is currently trading at Rs. 3375.90, up by 78.70 points or 2.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 3297.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3329.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3402.00 and Rs. 3300.45 respectively. So far 14561 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 4152.05 on 14-Sep-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 3050.00 on 08-Mar-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3402.00 and Rs. 3150.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 81429.14 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.55%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.11% and 24.35% respectively.

Britannia Industries has unveiled its first ever co-created biscuit to serve Tamil Nadu market with the launch of ‘Marie Gold Jeera’. The brand ahead of its region-specific launch has worked with various women homemakers in the state to co-create a biscuit which has ‘jeera’ (cumin) as its key ingredient given its health benefits.

The company wanted to celebrate the state’s love for the brand by launching an innovative product that is specially curated to suit the local tastes of the region. The brand has an impressive penetration in Tamil Nadu besides holding a dominant market leadership. Tamil Nadu is one of Britannia’s largest markets in terms of affinity and market share. Marie Gold is one of largest brands and has the trust of millions of consumers, especially in TN.
