Imphal, Feb 24 : A bomb exploded near the residence of NPP candidate Laitonjam Jayananda of Khurai constituency at Khurai Konsam Leikai on Thursday. Police said the CCTV footages available in the area were scanned and it was suspected that the bomb might have been thrown by some persons coming in a two-wheeler. No one was injured in the blast. Hearing the sound of the blast people came out and searched the area. Police have started a probe into the incident. The NPP and the Congress party had earlier requested the Election Commission to check the attacks on Congress and NPP candidates and workers by miscreants as the state goes to polls on Feb 28 and Mar 5 next.
