Ranchi, April 8 : Mandar MLA Bandhu Tirkey on Friday lost the membership of Jharkhand Assembly. As per the notification issued by the Jharkhand Assembly Secretariat following the conviction of Bandhu Tirkey Member Jharkhand Assembly from Mandar Assembly Area Number 66 by a special CBI court in case number RC No 5(a)/2010 AHD R(A) as per the provisions of Representation of People Act 1951 Section 8 and per provisions of the constitution under Article 191 (1)(e) Bandhu Tirkey has been relieved from the membership of Jharkhand Assembly with effect from 28.3.2022. In a DA case the court of special CBI judge PK Sharma had awarded three years of imprisonment to Bandhu Tirkey and had also imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh. Bandhu was later granted bail in the case and is currently out in the open. In the Assembly Elections of 2019 Bandhu Tirkey had got elected from Mandar Seat (Reserved ST) as a candidate of JVM-P. Later he joined the UPA as a part of the Congress party and was later also made one of the acting presidents of the Jharkhand Congress. AK BM
