Jaipur, October 3 (Udaipur Kiran News): Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited forward areas, including the Bikaner Military Station, to review the operational readiness and preparedness of troops deployed in the region.
During the visit, the Army Chief interacted with senior military leaders, veterans, civil dignitaries, and soldiers, reaffirming the Indian Army’s focus on modernisation, combat preparedness, and technological advancement to ensure operational excellence.
General Dwivedi felicitated Lt Col K Hem Singh Shekhawat (Retd), Lt Col Birbal Bishnoi (Retd), Risaldar Bhanwar Singh (Retd), and Havildar Nakat Singh (Retd) for their distinguished service and valuable contributions to nation-building.
Interacting with troops, he emphasised the rapidly evolving nature of warfare, highlighting the Army’s efforts to integrate Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and counter-UAS technologies across operational domains to enhance adaptability and preparedness against emerging threats.
Addressing the formation, including Bikaner-based veterans, the COAS lauded the soldiers for their dedication, commitment, and effective coordination while operating in the challenging desert and semi-desert terrain. He underscored the importance of technology absorption at all levels to sustain high operational readiness.
General Dwivedi further stressed that the complex security environment demands seamless synergy among the Armed Forces, government agencies, industry, academia, and society, advocating a Whole-of-Nation approach to defence preparedness. He also praised the role of Military-Civil Fusion and acknowledged the vital contributions of veterans in strengthening India’s defence capabilities and battlefield dominance.
