Moradabad, November 30 (Udaipur Kiran): Keeping dense fog in view, the Railways have taken a major decision to cancel several train services during the winter season. From December 1 to February 28, as many as 46 mail, express and passenger trains passing through Bareilly will remain suspended, while the frequency of 20 trains has been reduced, according to an order issued by the Moradabad Railway Division.

Railway officials said that due to reduced visibility and safety concerns, the operation of many major trains has been stopped for three months. Dense fog affects signal visibility and increases the risk of rail accidents. During winter, incidents of rail cracks and track damage also rise, due to which every year several trains are either cancelled or their trips reduced.

Extra Load on Roadways Buses
With the cancellation of many trains on routes including Delhi, Lucknow, Pilibhit and Badaun from December 1, the burden on roadways buses is expected to increase. It was also noted that passenger numbers generally drop by 25 to 30 percent during winter.
