Vivo CEO Teases More Stunning Low-Light Shots from Upcoming X200 Ultra

Vivo’s upcoming photography powerhouse, the X200 Ultra, is once again in the spotlight as CEO Han Boxiao shares new ultra-wide camera samples that underscore the phone’s low-light capabilities. The latest photos, posted on Chinese social platform Weibo, are designed to showcase the hardware leap the Ultra brings to the table—particularly with its impressive 50MP Sony LYT-818 1/1.28″ sensor used for both the main and ultra-wide cameras.

The ultra-wide camera is backed by a 14mm Zeiss lens featuring optical image stabilization (OIS), allowing for improved clarity and control in tough lighting scenarios. According to Han, the shots were captured in demanding, low-light conditions—something previous-generation phones have often struggled with.

No Comparisons This Time—“Too Unfair,” Says Vivo CEO

In a notable departure from previous posts, Han refrained from offering side-by-side comparisons with competing devices. In his own words (via machine translation):

“I also took ultra-wide photos of the same scene with other phones, but after looking at them, I decided not to post them—it would be too unfair.”

This subtle jab suggests a significant edge for the X200 Ultra, though it’s worth noting the source may be biased. Earlier comparisons shared by Han included shots alongside the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Canon 5D Mark IV, establishing the X200 Ultra’s ambition to rival both mobile and professional cameras.

Powerful Imaging Hardware and Dual Camera Chips Set the Stage

Beyond the impressive optics, the X200 Ultra is shaping up to be a computational photography giant. The device will include two dedicated imaging chips—the vivo V3+ for post-processing and the new VS1 chip dedicated to pre-processing. Together, these aim to deliver unmatched clarity, detail, and dynamic range across all camera modules.

Additionally, Vivo has confirmed that all three rear cameras—main, ultra-wide, and periscope telephoto—will feature optical image stabilization. A stabilization demo released earlier this week offered a glimpse into how the hardware-software synergy helps maintain consistent image quality even during handheld shooting or movement.

The Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to be officially unveiled soon, and if the teasers are anything to go by, it could be one of 2025’s most formidable camera phones.
