New Delhi, March 29, 2025: In light of the heavy travel rush during Chaiti Chhath Puja 2025, Chaitra Navratri, and Eid, Indian Railways has announced several special trains connecting Delhi to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, including the launch of a Vande Bharat Express Special from New Delhi to Patna, starting today.

This move aims to cater to the surge in passenger traffic and provide additional convenience for travellers heading home for the festive season.
Vande Bharat Special Train: Delhi to Patna
The train number 02436 will operate as the New Delhi–Patna Vande Bharat Special, departing New Delhi at 8:30 AM and reaching Patna by 8:10 PM from March 29 to 31 (Saturday to Monday).
The return service, train number 02435, will run as the Patna–New Delhi Vande Bharat Special, departing Patna at 8:30 AM and arriving in New Delhi at 8:10 PM, operating March 30 to April 1 (Sunday to Tuesday).
This train service follows the successful operation of similar Vande Bharat specials during Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Holi. However, due to the extended route length, it has not been made a permanent fixture. Indian Railways is also reportedly working on a sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express on the Delhi–Patna route, expected to launch later this year.
