The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant decision regarding the age limit for the upcoming UP Police Recruitment 2025. All categories will now receive a three-year age relaxation for direct recruitment to 32,679 posts.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has initiated the online application process for various posts including Constable Civil Police and equivalent positions. A recent official order clarified that a one-time age relaxation of three years will be granted across all categories for this recruitment drive.
This age relaxation applies to important posts such as Constable Civil Police (male and female), PAC Constable, Armed Police, Special Security Force, Women Battalion, Mounted Police, and Jail Warder (male and female). Candidates applying for these positions will benefit from the additional three years added to the maximum age limit.
The decision comes after delays in recruitment over recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, examination processes, and administrative challenges. These delays affected many young aspirants who had been preparing physically and mentally for the police recruitment but were unable to apply due to age restrictions.
Several BJP legislators raised this issue with the government, including Shalabh Mani Tripathi from Deoria. He wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requesting age relaxation for general category youths as well, highlighting the hardships faced by deserving candidates who missed the opportunity solely due to age criteria. The government has accepted this demand, granting a three-year relaxation on compassionate grounds.
