Udaipur, 28 March 2025 – In a joint operation conducted by the District Special Team (DST) and Ghantaghar Police Station, three individuals were arrested for operating an illegal online betting racket during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police team raided Manikya Lal Verma Park, Doodh Talai, on 27 March 2025, and caught the accused red-handed.

Arrested Individuals
The three arrested accused were identified as:

Himanshu, son of Madan Lal, resident of Kol Pol, Bada Bazaar, Police Station Ghantaghar, Udaipur.

Mukul, son of Shyam Lal, resident of 118B, Shakti Nagar, Police Station Bhupalpura, Udaipur.

Jai, son of Late Bhupendra, resident of 18 Matha Street, near Shrinathji Temple, Police Station Surajpol, Udaipur.
Modus Operandi
The accused were caught placing bets and accepting wagers via their mobile phones on illegal gaming websites identified as “Swattak Mgbindham” and “Thadd Mgbi”. These platforms were being used to run unauthorized online cricket betting during IPL matches.
Upon examination, four mobile phones were seized from the suspects, with preliminary investigations revealing betting transactions worth lakhs of rupees.
Connection to Larger Network
During initial questioning, the accused confessed to purchasing access to these illegal gaming platforms from two individuals:

Police Action & Further Investigation
Under the direction of Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, and supervision of Additional SP (City) Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer Kailash Chandra, the operation was led by Inspector Shyam Singh Ratnu, DST in-charge, along with his team and officers from Ghantaghar Police Station.
