Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir), November 8 (Udaipur Kiran): Security forces on Saturday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of Kupwara district, killing two terrorists who were trying to cross over from across the border.

According to Army officials, the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs about a planned infiltration attempt by heavily armed militants. During the joint operation, troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC, prompting them to take defensive positions.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, in a post on X, confirmed the development, stating:
“In an ongoing operation in the Keran sector, two terrorists have been eliminated. The area is being thoroughly searched.”
Officials said that the infiltrators opened indiscriminate fire after being challenged by the troops, leading to a brief exchange of fire in which both terrorists were neutralized. The area remains under a massive search and sanitization operation to ensure no further infiltration attempts.
The Army and intelligence agencies have been on high alert along the northern Kashmir border, as multiple infiltration bids have been reported in recent weeks ahead of the winter snowfall, which typically makes movement across the LoC difficult.
