Udaipur, March 5: In a significant development for rail passengers in Mewar and Rajasthan, the Ministry of Railways has revised the schedules of two major trains at Jaipur Junction, following the efforts of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulabchand Kataria. This change aims to provide passengers with ample time to switch trains and improve connectivity in the region.
Previously, Train No. 19665 (Khajuraho-Udaipur City) and Train No. 12249 (Shakur Basti-Jaisalmer) arrived at Jaipur around the same time, causing inconvenience for passengers, especially soldiers and those traveling to Bundelkhand.
According to the new schedule released by the Ministry of Railways, the Shakur Basti-Jaisalmer Express will now arrive at Jaipur Junction at 10:50 PM and depart at 11:00 PM. Meanwhile, the Khajuraho-Udaipur City Express will arrive at Jaipur 10 minutes earlier than its previous schedule.
This adjustment is expected to benefit travelers from Gwalior, Agra, Morena, Dholpur, and Bundelkhand. It will particularly ease the process for soldiers stationed in the bordering areas of western Rajasthan to change trains in Jaipur. Residents of Udaipur have expressed their happiness over this positive step.
