Telangana CM leaves to meet Uddhav Thackeray

Hyderabad  : Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao left by a special flight for Mumbai to meet his Maharashtra counterpart Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday.

This is part of his efforts to bring regional parties together and form a non-BJP front to fight against the BJP before the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Rao is being accompanied by a team of senior TRS leaders to meet Mr.Thackeray over lunch at the latter’s official Bandra residence in Mumbai around 1 p.m. Later in the day, KCR will also call on Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar at the latter’s residence.

It may be recalled that Uddhav Thackeray had recently telephoned KCR after the latter stepped up his criticism of the BJP and its rule at the Centre, to extend his (Thackeray) support to KCR and wanted to discuss on how best the unity of opposition parties could be brought about to defeat the BJP government at the centre.

According to TRS sources, KCR during his meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, may broach the BJP’s “communal and disruptive ” politics besides the Centre discriminating against the states which are opposing the BJP. KCR will leave Mumbai for Hyderabad around 8 pm. It may be recalled, that KCR who had floated the idea of forming a non-BJP and Non-Congress federal front.
