Police recover suspected motorcycle used in planting IED at Ghazipur Flower Market

New Delhi : Two days after improvised explosive device (IED) was recovered inside a house in Delhi’s Old Seemapuri which was defused by National Security Guard (NSG), Special Cell of Delhi Police recovered a motorcycle suspected to be used for planting the IED at Ghazipur Flower Market last month.

Police sources said the Special Cell sleuths have collected the CCTV footage from Old Seemapuri area and were analyzing them to find out activities of the suspects. During the investigation of Ghazipur IED case, Special Cell got input regarding IED in Seemapuri area following which the team raided the house on Thursday.

On Friday, teams of National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad visited the four-storey building at Old Seemapuri where 2-3 suspects were living. They have been investigating too.

The two persons, owner of the building Hashim Ahmad and property dealer Shamim, were questioned by the Special Cell about the tenants who had been living in the second floor of the building. Since the IEDs were found in two places in Delhi’s East and Shahdara districts, the police have been investigating on terror angle too and trying to find out the route from where IEDs were brought and who had planted it in the market and kept inside a house at Old Seemapuri.
