Tehran Reduces Fuel Quota After Attacks on Oil Facilities

Mumbai, March 8: Following recent attacks on oil facilities in Tehran, the administration has decided to reduce the fuel quota for residents. According to the Fars News Agency, the governor of Tehran province has appealed to citizens to lower their personal fuel quota from 30 liters (7.9 gallons) per day to 20 liters (5.2 gallons). The official reassured the public that there is no need for concern regarding fuel supply, as disruptions will be resolved soon, promising that this measure could be reversed in “two or three days.”

The governor emphasized that this arrangement is temporary and that the fuel quota will be restored to normal within a couple of days once the situation stabilizes.

In the aftermath of the attacks on Tehran’s oil facilities, flames were seen raging for hours. Numerous videos and images have gone viral on social media, showing the skies over the Iranian capital shrouded in smoke shortly after the incidents.

A state television official reported that U.S.-Israeli forces attacked five oil facilities around the capital overnight, resulting in four fatalities. Additionally, the Iranian Red Crescent Society has issued a warning about toxic rain following the explosions at the oil plants, advising the public to exercise caution. They stated that such rain could cause chemical burns to the skin and damage to the lungs.

As the military conflict enters its ninth day, Israeli media outlet Ynet reported that Iran has targeted 30 fuel tanks and three oil depots. In retaliation, Iran has also launched attacks on five countries, including Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has claimed that they are capable of waging war against the U.S. and Israel for six months.
