New Delhi, 29 December. Congress leader Alka Lamba has expressed hope that the Supreme Court will deliver justice in the Unnao rape case. Speaking to the media in New Delhi during the hearing, she said, “I have come here to encourage the victim, but I was not allowed to get out of the car.”
Alka Lamba appealed to the nation to raise their voice against this tyranny. She emphasized that the safety of daughters is everyone’s responsibility. The parents of Ankita Bhandari are also awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision. She added that she has spoken with the brother of the Hathras victim who is also waiting for justice.
Social activist Yogita Bhayana expressed optimism after a long struggle, saying, “We hope justice will be served. First, I want to thank the Supreme Court for taking cognizance of this matter so quickly. The vacation bench and the Chief Justice immediately focused on it. We expect today’s High Court order to be overturned.”
She added that the victim is hopeful for justice. Her health is stable, and she is currently in the courtroom because she wants to fight her own battle. Yogita Bhayana is confident that the Supreme Court will provide justice to the girl.
The mother of the Unnao rape victim told the media, “I trust the Supreme Court. I also trust the High Court, but some judges there did not treat me well or answer me properly. I believe the Supreme Court will ensure I get justice.”
The Supreme Court will hear the CBI petition challenging the suspension of the life imprisonment sentence given to Kuldeep Singh Sengar by the Delhi High Court. Meanwhile, on Sunday, several social organizations held protests at Jantar Mantar demanding justice for the Unnao rape victim.
