Ayodhya, January 4 : As northern India grapples with a severe cold wave, the management at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya has ensured comprehensive arrangements to protect Sri Ram Lalla from the biting chill. With temperatures plummeting and icy winds sweeping across the region, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has implemented top-notch measures to keep the deity warm and comfortable.
High-capacity oil heaters have been installed on both sides of Sri Ram Lalla’s sanctum. These oil heaters, known for their efficiency, gradually warm up the surroundings and retain heat for up to two and a half hours even after power outages, ensuring a consistent warmth during harsh weather conditions.
Comprehensive Winter Arrangements
In addition to the heaters, a range of winter essentials is being utilized to keep Sri Ram Lalla cozy. Woolen garments, thick quilts, lukewarm water, and warm meals have been part of the daily routine since late November. According to the temple’s chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, special attention is given to ensure that Lord Ram is shielded from the extreme cold, with every detail of the deity’s care meticulously planned.
“We treat and serve Lord Ram as a child, ensuring He is comfortable during this harsh weather,” said Acharya Das. He further mentioned that warm attire, including specially tailored woolen garments, has been in use since November 20.
Special Winter Offerings
The temple has also adapted its offerings to suit the cold weather. The daily bhog includes warm dishes such as poori, vegetable curry, and kheer, ensuring that the offerings are both hearty and suitable for winter conditions. Following the rituals, the offered food is distributed as prasad to devotees visiting the temple.
Additionally, Sri Ram Lalla is being wrapped in Jaipur-style quilts, known for their warmth and comfort. The management’s thoughtful measures have ensured that the deity remains unaffected by the ongoing cold wave while devotees continue to gather for prayers and blessings amid the freezing weather.
