Bikaner, Rajasthan – June 5: In a deeply spiritual and historic event held on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra, the sacred idol of revered saint and founder of the Alakh Panth, Shri Shri 1008 Udaygiri Ji Maharaj, was consecrated at his samadhi sthal near Nathusar Gate in Bikaner. The ceremony, marking 148 years since his samadhi, was led by the Hars family—specifically Shri Chanchal Harsh and Shri Ratanlal Harsh—who commissioned the magnificent marble statue.

Crafted from pristine white marble and weighing over 400 kilograms, the idol now sits in siddhasan (meditative posture) under a golden-domed marble canopy. The event was rich in Vedic tradition, reverberating with the chants of “Supraṭiṣṭhobhava” and “Devo Bhūtvā Devaṁ Yajet”, as spiritual leaders and devotees invoked the divine presence of the saint, lovingly called Baboji.
‘Jai Alakh’ Echoes Fill the Air
The atmosphere around the newly established shrine was deeply devotional and vibrant. The consecration was performed by Chandresh Harsh and his wife Rajni Harsh, who prayed for the welfare and progress of the nation and society. As the ritual concluded, the crowd of devotees broke into unified chants of “Jai Alakh” and “Om Alakh”, expressing their reverence for the yogi who had once enlightened the desert land of Marudhar with spiritual radiance.
A Day of Spiritual Celebration
The event saw day-long religious activities at the site. Devotees engaged in the chanting of Shiva Panchakshar Stotra, Rudrashtakam, and Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, while also performing jalabhishek (water offering) on the idol. Vedic priests, including Pandit Vijay Kumar Ojha, Basant Maharaj, Juni Maharaj, and Gokul Maharaj, performed elaborate rituals including panchamrit abhishek with sacred herbs and divine elixirs.
Sant Sammelan and Maha Aarti
A special sant sammelan (gathering of saints) was also held during the consecration, with saints and spiritual leaders from the Alakh Panth and other traditions being honored. Devotees and citizens served the spiritual guests and received their blessings. In the evening, a grand maha aarti was performed in front of the newly consecrated idol, followed by a community feast (maha prasad) attended by hundreds of followers, saints, and local dignitaries.
