Selma Blair Apologizes After Arrest for Assault on Delta Flight
Selma Blair apologized for her behavior after being arrested for assault on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York City.

NEW YORK, Oct 31: Selma Blair publicly apologized following her arrest for alleged assault on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York City on October 11. In an Instagram video posted on Friday, she expressed remorse to those she disappointed and hurt during the incident.
Blair, 54, stated, “To the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry.” She acknowledged her attorneys had advised her against speaking about the legal matter, but emphasized she takes it seriously. Blair noted, “I never intended to hurt or frighten anyone in my life.”
The actress was removed from Delta Flight 938 after allegedly becoming disruptive and trying to open an airplane door mid-flight. Upon landing, she was apprehended by Port Authority Police, who responded to a report of a “physically abusive passenger.” Two flight attendants suffered injuries; one was hospitalized.
Blair was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, including incidents involving a police officer and a nurse after she was transported to a hospital for evaluation. She pleaded not guilty and was released on an $80,000 bond.
In her video, Blair also mentioned her son and her service dog, Scout, stating that she planned to focus on their well-being. She referenced her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2018. According to her lawyer, her actions were attributed to a medical emergency exacerbated by missing doses of medication and a fall during the flight.
Blair is expected to return to court on January 19, 2027. Delta Airlines reiterated its stance on safety, stating, “We have zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior.” Sources confirmed she faces separate federal charges related to the incident.
