
Samsung recently announced the launch of new Galaxy A series models in India. The teaser confirmed that the phone would be unveiled on March 11, but did not confirm which model it would launch. Later, the company revealed the names “Galaxy A55 5G” and “Galaxy A35 5G” in a social media post. These upcoming smartphones are said to be successors to the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G. Ahead of the launch, the devices were leaked via online retailers along with RAM, storage, color options and prices.
In a report by GSMArena, the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G were spotted on German retail site Otto. As of this writing, this list is no longer available on the website. However, the retailer has reportedly revealed the price, RAM, storage configuration and color scheme of the upcoming handset.
The report states that the 8GB + 128GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G costs €480 (around Rs. 39,700) and the 8GB + 256GB variant costs €530 (around Rs. 43,800). Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is listed in two configurations – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, reportedly priced at €380 (around Rs 31,400) and €450 (around Rs 37,200). Both models will also reportedly be available in ice blue, lime, lilac and navy colors.
According to the report, both the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G will feature a 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The Galaxy A55 5G is reportedly powered by an Exynos 1480 processor while the latter is said to feature an Exynos 1380 chipset. According to the report, these smartphones also come with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 and Knox 3.1 protection.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy A55 5G features a triple rear camera unit with a 1.56-inch 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. Meanwhile, the report claims that the Galaxy A35 5G will come with a 1/1.96-inch 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro camera on the back. As for the front camera, the Galaxy A55 5G has a 32-megapixel sensor while the Galaxy A35 5G has a 13-megapixel sensor.
The report adds that the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G models are powered by a 5,000mAh battery and feature an aluminum body with an IP67 rating for dust and splash resistance. From the above images, it appears to be equipped with a button island on the right edge, which houses the volume rocker and power button. The phones also support dual-SIM and eSIM connectivity and are said to have a hybrid SIM tray. According to the report, the device also supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB Type-C connectivity.
