Udaipur: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and fervour at Sai Tirupati University in Umarda, Udaipur. The programme began with the singing of the national song Vande Mataram.
University President Dr Prashant Nahar, Registrar Dr Devendra Jain, Principal of Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences Dr Suresh Chandra Goyal and principals of various constituent colleges jointly hoisted the national flag. The tricolour was saluted during the national anthem, followed by a grand march-past by student volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
Students Present Patriotic Cultural Performances
The cultural programme began with a welcome address by Dr Dilip Kumar Pareek.
On the occasion, Sai Tirupati University Chairperson Ashish Agarwal, CEO Shrimati Sheetal Agarwal and MD Naman Agarwal extended their heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all students and staff members on Independence Day.
Addressing the gathering, University President Dr Prashant Nahar highlighted the significance of the 80th Independence Day and said that the sacrifices of the immortal martyrs of the freedom struggle should always be remembered. He appreciated the role of students in serving national interests and nation-building.
Dr Nahar also spoke about the achievements of the university and wished students of education management, medical, nursing, paramedical and pharmacy programmes a bright future.
During the programme, Dr Narendra Goyal provided information about the outstanding work of the newly constructed multispeciality PIMS City Hospital.
The main attraction of the event was the series of patriotic cultural performances presented by students of various constituent colleges. Faculty members who had performed excellently were honoured and wished a bright future. Students who gave outstanding performances in the cultural programmes were also honoured with certificates of appreciation.
Programme Concludes with Vote of Thanks
The programme was hosted by Sanjana Agarwal and Fiza Malik, students of MBBS batches 2022 and 2023. Harsh Vaghela, Umanshu Gupta, Hinal, Sneha Agarwal and Srishti Pandey extended their full support in the cultural presentations and the overall programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Ajay Kumar Chaudhary.
