Russian artillery strike kills 70 Ukrainian soldiers

Kyiv, March 1 : More than 70 Ukrainian soldiers were killed after the Russian artillery hit a military base in Okhtyrka, a city between Kharkiv and Kyiv, on Tuesday. Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, head of the region, has posted photographs on Telegram of the charred shell of a four-story building and rescuers searching rubble. Several Russian soldiers and some local residents were also killed during the fighting on Sunday, he said in a Facebook post. Earlier, The Guardian reported a military base on fire in Brovary, near Kyiv, after a reported airstrike on Monday night. There were also reports of air raid sirens sounded on Tuesday morning in Rivne west of Kyiv, along with Ternopil, Vinnytsia and Volyn. RNJ
