Kolkata, June 19 (Udaipur Kiran) – The metropolitan area of Kolkata along with the wider region of South Bengal is expected to get relief from the heat today, Wednesday.

According to a statement from the regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department in Alipore, the maximum temperature in Kolkata has been recorded at 35.3 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees higher than normal. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 30.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.
Clouds have gathered in the sky, and intermittent rain is expected throughout the day in Kolkata as well as in Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Purulia, Bankura, and other parts of the state. Light rain is also expected in North Bengal’s Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong. However, the sultry heat will continue.
