Reliance Intelligence, Meta Form Joint Venture for Enterprise AI Services with ₹855 Crore Investment

Mumbai, October 28 (Udaipur Kiran) — Reliance Intelligence Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has announced the formation of a new joint venture with Meta Platforms Inc. to develop and distribute enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) services in India.

The new entity, named Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), was officially incorporated on October 24, 2025, and will operate as a platform for AI-driven enterprise solutions, according to an exchange filing dated October 25, 2025.

Meta Joins as Strategic Partner

Under the amended and restated joint venture agreement, Facebook Overseas Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Meta Platforms Inc., will join Reliance Intelligence as a strategic partner. The filing states:

“REIL, incorporated in India as a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Intelligence, will become the joint venture company as per the amended and restated JV agreement with Facebook Overseas, Inc. (Meta). REIL will be engaged, inter alia, in developing, marketing, and distributing enterprise AI services.”

₹855 Crore Initial Investment

The joint venture will see a combined initial investment of ₹855 crore, with Reliance Intelligence holding a 70 percent stake and Meta’s subsidiary owning the remaining 30 percent.

Reliance Intelligence will invest ₹2 crore towards the initial subscription of 20 lakh equity shares of ₹10 each in REIL. Both companies are expected to infuse further capital as part of the long-term strategic roadmap for scaling AI services across sectors.

Regulatory and Transaction Details

The company clarified that the transaction does not constitute a related-party transaction, and none of Reliance Industries’ promoters or group entities hold any interest in it. The incorporation of REIL did not require any prior governmental or regulatory approvals.

Reliance Industries confirmed it received an official intimation from Reliance Intelligence regarding the incorporation on October 24, 2025, at 1:19 p.m. (IST). The move follows earlier disclosures made by RIL on August 29 and September 10, 2025.

Focus on Enterprise AI Expansion

REIL will focus on creating scalable AI-based enterprise solutions in fields such as data analytics, automation, digital operations, and industrial intelligence. The partnership combines Reliance’s technological infrastructure and business reach with Meta’s global expertise in AI frameworks, data systems, and machine learning models.

Industry experts see the joint venture as a major milestone in India’s enterprise technology landscape, aligning with Reliance’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in AI, cloud, and digital transformation solutions.
