Jaipur, March 30 – Rajasthan is witnessing fluctuating temperatures as the summer heat gradually intensifies. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury crossed 35°C in ten cities across the state, while three cities recorded nighttime temperatures below 10°C. Barmer emerged as the hottest city, with a maximum of 37.4°C.

Despite the rise, light cloud cover and moderate winds are expected to persist in the coming days. Parts of southeastern Rajasthan, especially Udaipur and Kota divisions, may experience thunderstorms and light rainfall between April 2 and 3, offering a brief respite from the heat.
Barmer Sizzles as Day Temperatures Rise
Barmer topped the charts with a maximum temperature of 37.4°C and a minimum of 19.2°C. Other cities that saw day temperatures cross the 35°C mark include:

In contrast, Fatehpur recorded the lowest nighttime temperature at 8.2°C, followed by Baran and Mount Abu, both of which recorded sub-10°C lows.
Rain and Heatwaves on the Horizon
The IMD has forecast cloudy skies from March 31 to April 3 over southeastern Rajasthan. Light showers with thunder are likely in Udaipur and Kota divisions on April 2–3. As the western regions of Rajasthan heat up, temperatures may rise to 40°C on April 3 and further climb to above 42°C between April 5 and 6.
Jaipur Records Rise in Temperature Amid Scattered Clouds
In Jaipur, scattered clouds and mild winds dominated the day, leading to a rise in temperature. The city recorded a maximum of 33.8°C and a minimum of 19.7°C, marking an increase of 2°C and 1.3°C respectively compared to the previous day.
The pink city is expected to experience further fluctuations in temperature in the coming days, as pre-summer weather patterns shift across the region.
