Jaipur, October 16 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough against online fraud and logistics theft, the Alwar police have busted an inter-state gang involved in stealing high-value electronic goods from a Flipkart transport truck. Acting under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary, the Laxmangarh police team arrested seven accused and recovered 108 stolen items including iPhones and laptops worth approximately ₹47 lakh.
According to SP Chaudhary, the case began on October 7, when Lakhan Pal Singh, owner of Amrit Singh Motor Transport Company, filed a report stating that two men posing as truck drivers had used fake documents to collect a goods vehicle from Flipkart’s warehouse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. The truck, which was supposed to deliver goods, never reached its destination. Later inspection revealed that 234 high-value electronic items, including 221 iPhone 16 units and several premium smartphones and laptops, had been stolen en route.
Further investigation found that the accused drivers — identified as Afzal and Aslam, who initially gave false names as Nasir Khan and Chahat Khan — were part of a larger organized network.
Police discovered that the gang operated with inside information from within the Flipkart logistics system. A gang member named Lokesh allegedly provided details about high-value shipments. The accused would then apply for temporary driving contracts with fake identity cards, retrieve loaded trucks from warehouses, and steal the goods mid-route by breaking the locks. The stolen items were later sold at discounted prices through illegal channels.
Following swift action, the Laxmangarh police arrested Afzal and Aslam from Laxmangarh and Sudhir Yadav from Tijara on the same day of the complaint. Subsequent investigation led to the arrests of Tushar Yadav (Haryana), Vikram Singh (Uttar Pradesh), Jaipal Yadav (Khairthal, Tijara), and Manish (Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh).
From their possession, police recovered 88 Apple iPhones, 20 other branded phones, 2 Apple laptops, 1 Samsung tablet, and the WagonR car used in the crime.
SP Chaudhary said that the mastermind Lokesh is still absconding and efforts are underway to arrest him and recover the remaining stolen goods. The police are also investigating possible internal collusion and cross-state links in the case.
