Rajasthan Chief Minister Advocates Zero Tolerance on Crime
Rajasthans Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy on crime and announces strict actions against negligent police personnel.
Jaipur, October 14 (Udaipur Kiran) : Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced a strict zero-tolerance policy towards crime in the state, following a series of recent criminal incidents and lapses by police personnel. During a high-level meeting, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the current law enforcement situation and ordered immediate disciplinary actions against those involved.
Sharma highlighted the importance of maintaining law and order, especially with the festive season approaching. He stated that the state has a reputation for being peaceful, which was tarnished during the previous government’s tenure. “Under our government, we must ensure that this dignity is restored, and there will be no leniency towards crime,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister directed police officials to take strict measures against any criminal activities, regardless of the perpetrator’s status. He emphasized that accountability should be ensured for those responsible for fostering crime. In addition, he called for effective monitoring to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
Addressing the issue of criminal gangs, Sharma instructed officials to compile a detailed list of disputes related to mining and land across districts and develop a robust action plan for resolution. He made it clear that there is no place for criminals in Rajasthan, and the government will not tolerate any form of mafia activities.
Following the meeting, immediate actions were taken, resulting in the suspension of one officer and the transfer of six others. Among those affected was Dhirendra Singh, the station house officer of Ver, who was suspended, while additional police officials were placed on waiting status. The measures reflect Sharma’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for all citizens, particularly highlighting the need for enhanced safety for women through dedicated patrol units.
Sharma reiterated that the actions of a few negligent personnel can tarnish the reputation of the entire police department, which has the primary duty of instilling fear of law among criminals and ensuring public safety. He urged all officers to regularly review law and order in their jurisdictions to prevent major incidents and to ensure that every citizen feels secure.
