Poll temperatures rise in election bound states

Congress also released its poll manifesto for Chhattisgarh assembly polls. Party has promised loan waiver for farmers within ten days if voted to power. It has also promised a pension for farmers above 60 years of age. Besides, the manifesto also talks about providing 35 kg rice per month at a price of 1 Re per kg. BJP is also scheduled to release its manifesto on Saturday. Campaigning for the first phase of assembly polls also ends on Saturday for which voting will take place on November 12.

In Madhya Pradesh, filing of nominations came to an end on Friday with candidates queuing up to file papers on the last day. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, accompanied by  candidates, visited a temple and sought blessings.

With poll temperatures rising, the war of words between BJP and Congress has also intensified. Both the parties trained their guns at each other… on the issue of demonetisation.

In Rajasthan too, hectic poll activities are underway. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje visited Ganesha temple in Sawai Madhopur on Friday and offered prayers.

Meanwhile, in Mizoram, Friday was the last day of nominations. Polling for the 40 seats of the state assembly will take place on 28th November.
