Google’s upcoming foldable product may disappoint fans of the original Pixel Fold with its new dimensions. From the first leaked renders, Google is taking a different design approach for its next book-style foldable device. Now the phone has been officially announced as the “Pixel 9 Pro Fold”. The new name also includes a new design that Google just officially unveiled as part of an advertising campaign for the launch of the Pixel 9 series on August 13th. Now a new leak has provided information about the exact dimensions of the upcoming foldable display.
The now unique Pixel Fold design allows the home screen to open up to a perfectly rectangular, tablet-like design, allowing you to display apps in tablet mode (like Keep, Gmail, etc.) on the screen (competition). The product does not need to be rotated (like the product). . This layout worked well for users who wanted a wide screen for watching videos or browsing apps, but the screen cover was unusually wide for one-handed use.

Potential Pixel Fold upgraders will be happy to know that it doesn’t have a square main screen like the OnePlus Open (which causes letterboxing issues when watching videos). The Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s main display has a slightly rectangular aspect ratio and is said to be 8.0 inches wide, with a resolution of 2152 x 2076 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 1600 nits. The cover screen moves from a short and wide size (Passport) to a long screen with a 6.24-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Its brightness is 1800 nits. Both displays should be able to display HDR content.
The upcoming Pixel Fold 9 Pro sits between the OnePlus Open and the recently announced Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. This is because it looks more rectangular than the square OnePlus Open. Given the slightly smaller screen dimensions, it could end up being a smaller Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
In practice, this means it ditches the Pixel Fold’s wide-bezel screen and users can expect something much taller like the X Fold 3 Pro (but with wider corner notches). This exactly matches the Pixel 9 Pro Fold image that was previously leaked by the same source.
