Jaipur, October 30 (Udaipur Kiran): Acting on the directions of the ACB Headquarters, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Bikaner (SIU Unit) on Thursday arrested Ambalal Meena, Patwari of Panchu Halka, Tehsil Nokha, District Bikaner, along with middleman Shriram, operator of Mahadev e-Mitra Centre, Panchu, for accepting a bribe of ₹4,000.

Director General of ACB, Govind Gupta, informed that the bureau received a complaint alleging that Patwari Ambalal Meena had demanded a bribe of ₹4,000 through e-Mitra operator Shriram Jat. The bribe was sought in exchange for preparing a report required to release the fourth instalment of compensation—amounting to about ₹50,000—for agricultural land affected by an electricity tower in Panchu.
Under the supervision of DIG Bikaner, Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, and leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB Bikaner (SIU) Ashish Kumar, a trap was organized. During the operation, e-Mitra operator Shriram Jat was caught accepting ₹4,000 from the complainant on behalf of Patwari Ambalal Meena. Both were arrested red-handed.
Further interrogation and investigation are being carried out under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police, ACB, Smita Srivastava. A case has been registered under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further probe is underway.
