New Delhi, August 2 (Udaipur Kiran) – Indian badminton star PV Sindhu suffered a disappointing defeat in the pre-quarter final match of the badminton tournament. This loss has dealt a blow to India’s hopes of winning a medal in badminton.
In the pre-quarter final match held on Thursday evening at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Chinese player He Bingjiao defeated Indian shuttler PV Sindhu. Bingjiao won the match in straight sets, 21-19 and 21-14. With this defeat, Sindhu’s journey at the 2024 Olympics has come to an end.
From the start of the Round of 16 match, the speed and agility of Chinese player He Bingjiao proved too much for Sindhu. Although the first set was closely contested, Bingjiao managed to win it 21-19. In the second set, Sindhu made several errors that Bingjiao converted into points, winning the set 21-14. With this victory, He Bingjiao has advanced to the quarter-finals.
It is worth noting that PV Sindhu had previously defeated He Bingjiao at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to win a bronze medal.
