Mumbai, May 2 (Udaipur Kiran): Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor India has reported a strong start to the financial year 2027, registering a sharp 75 percent year-on-year growth in domestic sales in April 2026.
The company sold 3,203 units in the domestic market during the month. Including exports, total sales stood at 5,388 units, reflecting robust demand for its vehicles in India.
The surge in sales has been driven primarily by two key models — the newly launched 7-seater SUV Nissan Gravite and the compact SUV Nissan Magnite. While the Magnite has already established a strong presence in the market, the new Gravite has quickly gained popularity among buyers.
According to the company, customers are appreciating the Gravite for its spacious cabin, features, and practicality for daily use. The continued popularity of the Magnite has further strengthened Nissan’s position in the competitive SUV segment.
Commenting on the performance, Nissan India official Saurabh Vatsa said the strong start to the financial year reflects that the company’s strategy is moving in the right direction. He added that the positive response to the Gravite and the sustained demand for the Magnite have boosted customer confidence in the brand.
Looking ahead, Nissan plans to expand its footprint across India by strengthening its showroom and service network. The company aims to improve accessibility for customers and ensure a seamless buying and ownership experience.
With the success of the Magnite and Gravite, Nissan is now positioning itself to capture a larger share of the Indian SUV market.
