Udaipur : An Integrated Analysis Group from the National Defence College, (NDC) New Delhi that is on a visit to Rajasthan, arrived Udaipur on monday. The fifteen members of the delegation had an interactive session with the district and police authorities who apprised them on the priority areas, development,law and order situation of the district. Collector Bishnu Charan Malick gave a presentation on the administrative setup, blocks and sub blocks of the district and told them of the various schemes being implemented for the downtrodden and deprived section.
Additional SP Brajesh Soni apprised the team on the various issues and challenges posing the law and order situation including ‘Mautana’ which the officer said is one of the biggest social evil prevalent among the tribal people which disturbs the peace frequently. CEO,Jila Parishad gave a detailed presentation and progress report on schemes like SwacchBharat mission, MNREGA, Mukhyamantri Jal Swawlamban Yojana etc. Additional Chief engineer of the Udaipur Municipal Corporation apprised the team of various works completed under the SMART city project. CMHO Sanjeev Tank gave a presentation of the health and medical services in the district.
The delegation also asked various questions on waste disposal, mechanism to deal with the menace of plastic waste, the unemployment situation in the area, prospects of skill development etc. The team comprised of military officers from South Korea, New Zealand, Egypt and Bhutan. The delegation was led by faculty in-charge Major General M.VinayChandran.NDC has constituted 7 teams which is travelling across all the states to collect information on economic matters. In Rajasthan, the delegation would make an observation report on development that has taken place in the areas of tourism, industries, mining and agriculture. The delegation also visited Hindustan Zinc. From Udaipur, the delegation would travel to Jodhpur and Jaipur, authorities said. The NDC is the highest seat of strategic learning for Indian Defence and Civil Services officers.
This is a very prestigious course attended only by a few hand-picked defence officers of Brigadier (one-star General) rank and from friendly foreign countries. The college provides strategic leadership to the government of India in national and international security matters and also acts as a think tank on defence matters and holds a very important position in shaping up the Indian defence outlook. It conducts a 47-week National Security and Strategic Study course each year. During the course of each study, course is divided into seven groups called Integrated Analysis Groups (IAG). The course involves extensive travel within and outside the country to visit Indian states and foreign countries where course members meet head of states and important decision makers to understand the political, social and strategic landscape of the country.
